What I donĘt understand is this: Lets take IO mission - as an example. Why the hell farm it? Have you tried NOT Farming it, and I am not talking about "moral"/"social"/"market" implications of farming or not farming. I am talking pure numbers here.
I get an IO mission at least 3 times a day. Now, WTF, I will run it 3 times a day - from the same agent, mind you - it is better on the numbers for LP, ISK Overall, and time spent.
Lets say you use 2x agents, and they each give you an IO mission, so you can only run the bloody thing for 7 days, once a day, also imagine all the time spent traveling from one agent to the next.
Or lets say you have 5 agents and have 5 IO Missionsą So, Ok, lets presume we are talking about a hard core IO/Drone farmer - he has 5 Agents, and he has 5 IO Missions going, he runs them ONCE, EACH DAY. ThatĘs 5 Missions, repeated day after day, since agent is Locked and unavailable to give more missions. So it is wasted LP for 5 AGENTS, or wasted LP from an agent who could have offered 5 or 6 different missions and concervative ammoubnt of 25k LP for 5 Missions (I am talking conservative 5k lp/per mission, I know some of us get up to 10k LP/Mission) which he could have gotten if he completed missions properly, not to mention the wasted time traveling from agent to agent.
Personally I find something like this ridiculous and boring; I much rather run my mission and get my crapload of LP per day and then cash in on a good agent offer than be bored out of my skull, running around the universe, killing SDP/or Drone Controllers, as they are now called.
I donĘt think that IO farming/Or any other mission farming, is an issue at all: very small number of people will actually subject themselves to such a mindless grind - or am I to optimistic of human nature?
As I said, if you calculate the amount of time spent doing so-called mission farming, the profit vs. enjoyment and reward is pretty lame.
And, as I mentioned before, I get at least 3x IO Missions a Day + I get 2 or 3 Worlds Collide (apparently another "farmable mission", and rather than waste the time waiting till DT, traveling to another agent, wait till DT for IO Drones to respawn - I much rather go and do 5 more missions of different type with allot more game enjoyment.
Also, as far as Worlds Collide mission is concerned, I tried to farm it, and then I realized that the time I am wasting, being bored, waiting for the NPC rats to respawn, I make more ISK running missions non stop.
Anyway, I have to laugh when I see such uproar about mission farming, in my experience it is better not to farm and enjoy the game. In my experience it is more profitable and definitely more enjoyable to actually run a mission and not wait till NPC respawns again.
But, anyway, I am going to go to bed now. Thos who want to farm, let them farm - game allows it. Thos who dont - well have fun and play the game.
Have fun all.
